100 Year Promise Capital Campaign

The Woodstock Spirit Starts Here. The Woodstock Spirit has been alive for the past century. Now, we are presented with the opportunity for it to continue to change lives for years to come. Camp Woodstock is proudly launching the 100 Year Promise Capital Campaign, and our goal is to raise $1.25 million to preserve camp’s legacy and secure the Woodstock Spirit for the next 100 years. Together, we will allow children from future generations to experience a place to unplug and form true and vital connections where Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are taught and caught.

“My 24 years directing Camp Woodstock were more than a career. They were a privilege. I did not consider it work in the normative sense of the word. I was, like every other Woodstocker, just a part of something that was set apart, meaningful and personal. It wasn’t work; it was Woodstock. Looking back, we all now have an opportunity to give something back.”

– Mike Sherman, 100 Year Promise Capital Campaign Co-chair

The vision of our master plan is to enhance, not change, the buildings and exceptional natural beauty that blend together to form the background for our mission. We know who we are and will retain the power of this place to change lives for the next 100 years.

As stewards of your investment in Camp Woodstock’s capital campaign, WE PROMISE TO:

  • Invest in building the social skills and character of future leaders;
  • Preserve Camp Woodstock’s natural beauty and create unique spaces for young people to connect with the environment; and
  • Provide a safe place for respect and belonging. In the words of our first Camp Director, Pop Thienes, “we can do no nobler thing.”

“Camp Woodstock has been ‘deep in my heart’ for nearly two decades now. As the new kid in town, camp helped me make some of my first friends in Connecticut. As a young adult, I learned what it meant to lead both my campers and my peers as cabin staff, adventure trip leader, and CIT Director. Now, as co-chair of the capital campaign, I have the opportunity to work with the very people who served as mentors and friends, to shape the next 100 years of this place we all love. I hope you’ll all join us in realizing our vision for the future.”
