Greetings Woodstockers,

First, I want to extend well wishes from all of us here at Camp Woodstock to you and your families. We hope you are all staying safe and healthy during these complicated times. We miss you all very much and miss the vibrancy of having you at camp singing songs, playing sports and building lifelong friendships. This spring has felt strange without school groups and families reuniting at family camps.

As many of you know, Camp was basing its decision on whether to hold overnight camp this summer on Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont’s reopening committee’s decisions, as well as on guidance from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, and the CDC. On Tuesday, May 19th the state officially announced that overnight camps will not be allowed to run this summer. To say we are disappointed is an understatement: with more than 1,100 children looking forward to an amazing summer camp experience, it is heartbreaking to make this decision. To us, a summer without camp isn’t really summer at all!

We know this has been an uncertain time, and until now we had been planning on having another great summer of overnight camp. We’ve spent months repainting bunks, creating lesson plans that allowed for social distancing, and developing safety guidelines to ensure that all remained healthy while in our care.

As our state begins to open, guardians and parents going back to work will need Day Camp. We will continue to offer our local families an extraordinary Day Camp experience and vital service as people begin to work outside of the home again.

We are hoping to make the cancellation process for you as simple as possible, and are offering three options:
1. We can issue you a full refund of your registration fees, deposits, and any payments you made. Please contact our office manager at
2. We can use your deposit as a credit towards a session in summer camp 2021. Please contact our summer camp director at
3. You may donate a portion or all of the funds to the YMCA to help sustain Camp Woodstock. Please contact our executive director at

Thank you again for helping make Camp Woodstock the amazing place it is, and we hope to see you again soon. If we can answer any questions or concerns for you during this difficult time, do not hesitate to reach out by email, or by phone at 800-782-2344.

Stay safe and stay in touch.

In the spirit of Woodstock,
