It was a Super Sunday! (July 5)

New campers! New campers! New campers! After a well-deserved sleep in breakfast, complete with doughnuts and relaxation, we went to a Responsibility-themed chapel. We talked about what it means to be responsible, what life is like in the Dominican Republic and learned a new song from Puerto Rico. The fun continued with our traditional Sunday Swim Across the Lake. Campers who didn't swim or boat had fun on land, playing Carpet Ball, Gaga and Frisbee. Lunch and rest hour came and went...and then our new campers arrived! We started bonding right away by playing Where's Waldo and finishing the game ...

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day from Camp Woodstock! We started off this special day with some help from the Woodstock Fire Department, by driving a firetruck around camp to help us wake up! Our fun didn't stop there...after taking an all camp photo with the firetruck, we had a great Patriotic DJ Breakfast, complete with fresh blueberry pancakes! It was sad to say goodbye to our one-week campers, but after we did, we continued with our festivities. Cabins all painted flags for our parade, and then we played a Patriotic Zombie game run by our CITs. The fun didn't stop there, as ...

What a Fantastic Friday! (July 3)

What a day! Some of us were up and at 'em at the first bell this morning...we had two Raids this morning! Even though its not the best kind of wake up call, its safe to say that everyone still had fun. Breakfast kept the energy high, as we had Jazzercize Breakfast to keep our blood pumping. Cabin acts and our morning classes made us even happier. Today were Swim Checks during Swim Lessons, and many campers moved up in level or even graduated from lessons! (Woo hoo!). Friday Lunch means PIZZA! We enjoyed our pizza with plenty of cheers, especially ...

In the afternoon, we had even more fun...and it didn't stop there! Free swim had all the usual activities, with one new exciting addition: a tetherball pole at the Lower Cabin Field! We had so much fun with our new feature! Today was Thursday....which means it was Cookout Dinner! And tonight, our Day Camp friends got to stay for dinner and Evening Programming! Our ...

What a Wednesday! (July 1st)

Thunderstorms and rain can't stop us from having another amazing day here in the Pines! We were sad to see our Tenderfeet campers leave, but still had fun. Cabin Acts kicked off our day, as close to planned as possible. We did everything from Frisbee Golf to "Wand Making" to "Cherokee Sports" to Trust Building exercises. The rain let up so we were able to go to our Morning Classes as scheduled! This morning contained Dream Catcher crafting in Arts and Crafts, Iron Chef Outdoor Cooking, and Bamboo Rod Fishing. We had an exciting "Dice Lunch", where a giant foam ...

Another Terrific Tuesday! (June 30th)

What a day to be a Woodstocker! The clouds have cleared and we are finally having summer weather in the Pines of Woodstock. This morning, we held our first Open Acts, where we did everything from "Cat Sabotage" to "De-Pin the Tail on the Donkey" to "Lanky Yoga." After Open Acts, we went to our morning choice acts. Unit One Fishing had an exciting day, as they spotted our elusive resident turtle, Oscar. Smiles were abundant at Arts and Crafts, where we were making Balloon Lanterns today. Our afternoon classes were just as fun as the morning, and included Water ...

We Had a Marvelous Monday! (June 29)

Greetings from the Pines of Camp Woodstock! Today was busy but a great first full day! Cabin 12 had a lot of fun and did a great job sweeping the dining hall this morning after breakfast. After we learned some more cheers in our units, we went to first choice acts of the summer! Campers in Cabin 1 said that their favorite part of the morning was swim lessons and campers in Cabin 10 had so much fun in guitar class! Lunch today was filled with tons of cheers before we enjoyed some much needed rest during rest hour. After ...

Session 1 Is Officially Underway!

The campers are here! The campers are here! The campers are HERE! A little bit of precipitation couldn't stop us from having fun today, as the campers FINALLY arrived! We picked our choice acts, learned some new (and remembered some old) cheers, and had a nice family-style dinner to celebrate the start of the session. Opening Campfire may have been indoors, but we still had fun singing our favorite "Stand Up" songs and watching some silly skits from our staff before our traditional visit from Chief Acquitimaug. We are all in need of a good night's sleep before our big ...
