World Service Cookout A Success!

If you've ever checked in at the start of a session before, then you've probably seen people flipping burgers and hot dogs, and more importantly, people eating and laughing together. Our World Service cookout is a very important part of our check in days. Besides it being an opportunity to eat before our campers start their time at camp, it also raises money for our Sister Y in the Dominican Republic. Our board members worked hard to make sure everyone was fed, and we think it's safe to say that the whole event was a success! This summer, we ...

Another terrific Tuesday in the books here at Camp Woodstock! It was a little bit of a misty morning here, but it was not enough to stop us from smiling! After breakfast, we had our third Open Acts of the session. Activities included "Grannying", "Rave in the Cave", and "Frisbeeball." We went from there to our morning classes...highlights included Fuse Beads in Arts and Crafts and perfecting our elementary backstroke in swim lessons. Meanwhile, our LIT friends participated in a fun activity that stressed the importance of verbal and non verbal communication, and also listening. We made sure we rehydrated ...

It was a Super Sunday! (July 5)

New campers! New campers! New campers! After a well-deserved sleep in breakfast, complete with doughnuts and relaxation, we went to a Responsibility-themed chapel. We talked about what it means to be responsible, what life is like in the Dominican Republic and learned a new song from Puerto Rico. The fun continued with our traditional Sunday Swim Across the Lake. Campers who didn't swim or boat had fun on land, playing Carpet Ball, Gaga and Frisbee. Lunch and rest hour came and went...and then our new campers arrived! We started bonding right away by playing Where's Waldo and finishing the game ...

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day from Camp Woodstock! We started off this special day with some help from the Woodstock Fire Department, by driving a firetruck around camp to help us wake up! Our fun didn't stop there...after taking an all camp photo with the firetruck, we had a great Patriotic DJ Breakfast, complete with fresh blueberry pancakes! It was sad to say goodbye to our one-week campers, but after we did, we continued with our festivities. Cabins all painted flags for our parade, and then we played a Patriotic Zombie game run by our CITs. The fun didn't stop there, as ...

What a Fantastic Friday! (July 3)

What a day! Some of us were up and at 'em at the first bell this morning...we had two Raids this morning! Even though its not the best kind of wake up call, its safe to say that everyone still had fun. Breakfast kept the energy high, as we had Jazzercize Breakfast to keep our blood pumping. Cabin acts and our morning classes made us even happier. Today were Swim Checks during Swim Lessons, and many campers moved up in level or even graduated from lessons! (Woo hoo!). Friday Lunch means PIZZA! We enjoyed our pizza with plenty of cheers, especially ...
