Activities

IMG_0778Each day campers take part in a variety of activities. Some of these activities campers choose at the beginning of the week, some are chosen that day and some are chosen by their counselor as a cabin activity.  This is how we ensure that each camper has the opportunity to try many new things each week.

Cabin Activities

This activity is designed by the cabin counselors and helps create friendships in the cabin!

Choice Activities

Campers pick their Choice Acts for the week on Sunday. Campers do activities in units! Unit 1, ages 7 – 10 choose from about 6 activities each period. Unit 2, ages 11 – 12 choose from about 15 activities each period. Unit 3, ages 13 and up choose from about 15 activities each period.

Evening Games

We play all-camp games that run all over camp involving all the campers at once!

I’m 7-10 years old… Do I choose from the same classes?

Unit 1 is our youngest unit (ages 7-10 respectively) and for that reason they get to choose from a shorter list of activities that are better tailored to their age & size. We also know that for most young campers, choosing from over 30 activities can be very overwhelming and we want to make their experience as smooth as possible. Choice Activities for Unit 1 may include:

  • Archery
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Canoeing
  • Climbing
  • Dance
  • Funir
  • Mad Scientist
  • Outdoor Cooking
  • Stupid But Fun
  • Swim Lessons
  • Woodstock Naturalist

How do I sign up?

On each Sunday, all campers watch skits performed by counselors that explain the activities that are being offered that week.  Campers are then dismissed to the Program Lodge where counselors are waiting to sign them up for classes.  Each counselor will be holding a sign and yelling the name of the class they are teaching. If a camper wants to take that class, they just walk up to the counselor and sign up.

IMG_0277What if I don’t get into the activity I wanted because it was full?

It’s okay!!  Camp is all about trying new things and meeting new people, that’s what everyone is here for.  If you are staying two weeks, try to sign up for that activity the next week.  For safetly reasons, space is limited in all of our activities, even some of our most popular ones. Trust us, you will be happy with the classes you did end up with, even if they weren’t your top picks.
